The Warners cartoons have so many great examples. One Disney example that comes to my mind is when Bagheera suddenly realizes Kaa is going to eat Mowgli and wakes up (it's barely a few seconds long). You've just got to make sure the spacing is aggressive enough to make it work.
It's kind of a shame that it's just a blur effect in CG, and the animators aren't usually the people who control it. If the animators were in control, they could do it like those Tom & Jerry smears, where the leading edge of the movement is sharp, but the stuff dragging behind is blurredMarc Hendryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17549932443429596568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2565467389318493488.post-19395902992000817932018-09-10T08:27:39.865-07:002018-09-10T08:27:39.865-07:00Favourite Disney distortion: the horse in Cinderel...Favourite Disney distortion: the horse in Cinderella, when he's passed over by the Fairy Godmother to pull the pumpkin coach. Only one stretched drawing but it's so telling.

Clark Irvinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00898557515158719057noreply@blogger.com
