Not so many years ago there were hardly any books available relating to animation. Today of course every new animated feature comes with its own book on The Making of.
Back then magazine articles were the only source of information about new projects from Disney, and occasionally photos took you behind the scenes of the studio. There was nothing more exciting than finding out about the next project from Walt Disney Productions.
Those were very intersting, thank you. Escpecially Info about womens at Disney was amazing. Would be great to hear more those talented artists.
ReplyDeleteThese are Great! Thanks fer sharing. It's a shame the Martin and the coys sequence was cut from the dvd releases. There's so much great animation in that section... Perhaps someday there will be a set out with all of the "edited out" stuff included...Might need some pixie dust to make that happen...sigh.
ReplyDeleteThe Martins and he Coys are on the European DVD Release of Make Mine Music.
ReplyDeleteOne of the women pictured in the "Girls at Work" spread is Gyo Fujikawa. I believe that she is the same woman who appears in the "Life Class" scene in "The Reluctant Dragon" with Robert Benchley. The art teacher calls her "Lotus" and her line is "Oh no, I think round tummy kind of cute". Ken Anderson, Retta Scott, Wolfgang Reitherman and Eric Larson can also be spotted in the same scene.
