...toward the end of next month:
- Hardcover, almost 400 pages
- Hundreds of drawings by the Nine Old Men, most of them never published before
- Insight into their creative process
- Stories about their artistic triumphs as well as occasional failures and disappointments
- Profiles of each animator's career achievements
- and much more...
It turned out to be the kind of book I wished I had when I was an art student.
Preorder it from Amazon, you'll have an early Christmas:

I have already pre ordered it and can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteComing from a college student studying animation right now, I know I am putting that on my Christmas wish list. I really appreciate that you are publishing a book on the old Disney masters and their experiences with Walt over the years. I have gathered so many Disney animation books since high school, and I learn so much more with each book I find. I want to personally thank you and your fellow animators for really inspiring my choice for what degree and field I want to study. I really loved your recent book on Marc Davis. I showed it to my mother and was amazed on the personal artwork he did that wasn't part of the studios.
ReplyDeleteSo I have to ask, did you draw the nine old men on the cover?
Yes, I did.
DeleteIt's wonderful. I think the Nine Old Men would be really pleased. I am looking forward to your latest animated production you are working on right now.
Deletewoooooow! Finally! I'm simply speechless... You got another customer here!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait, Andreas! Simply can't wait!

ReplyDeleteHow cool Andreas! :)
ReplyDeleteI just pre-ordered it! CAN'T WAIT!!!
ReplyDeleteAndreas, I was in the audience for the Legends ceremony, and I was incredibly moved by your acceptance speech. It's an honor you very much deserve. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteI cohost a "Disney Geek Dads" podcast, and we'd love to have you on the show. We've already had a number of great guests, including Floyd Norman and Tony Bancroft. If you're interested, feel free to get in touch (jamie at theroarbots dot com) for more information.
Thanks!
Jamie
Finally, the Truth can be told!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if you mention Freddie Moore or Bill Tytla in this book as well or
will these be subjects for other books(hint, hint, wink, wink)
Can't wait to get this one!
All the Best,
Jim
Will you be doing a book tour? I would love to get it signed!

ReplyDeleteWeirdly the UK Amazon date is 4th November, but I can handle the wait I guess. It's now added to my pre-order list :D
ReplyDeleteI hope it comes to my local library. So excited for the book, Andreas!
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is September 19, so it will be a happy one indeed.
ReplyDeleteMr Deja,
ReplyDeleteI AM OFFENDED!! HOW DARE YOU CREATE A BOOK THAT I WILL GIVE UP LUNCH MONEY FOR TO OWN AND ENJOY!
Personally, I must say that the only way I can calm down from that passionate tirade is to have you autograph said book. I feel it's only the right thing to do, it's like you almost just reached into my wallet and took my hard earned money in exchange for something I think will be one of my favorite books to own (and so you know the weight of that comment, my book collection now stands at roughly 8000 books, yep, I'm addicted to books).
So, to summarize, YOU OWE ME MR DEJA! Any information of where my purchase can be sent to have someone who seems as incredibly nice as he is talented sign my book would be greatly appreciated!
Wishing you great success!!! (now I can breathe......)
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
