This is a "rough" idea for a poster for my film
Mushka by Peter Moehrle. Train travel is an important part of the film, and this image certainly represents that. Peter did refine this design according to the visual style of the film. I will post that image soon.
We are currently deep into effects as well as final color, I couldn't be happier. Everything is looking amazing!!
Wow!!! This is stunning Andreas!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your movie finished Andreas. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHi Andreas, I worked on the typeface used for the title on this sketch! (Here it is in my portfolio: https://typesupply.com/portfolio/house-gothic-23) If you'd like some lettering drawn specifically for the poster, please get in touch: https://typesupply.com/contact. I'd *love* to help. I've been a huge admirer of your work since the late 80s.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that you happened to be a follower!
DeleteHa! Back in my tweens to teens, I studied on my own to be an animator. There was a great book published circa 1990 that had interviews with the young greats—Deja, Keane, Henn, Baxter and lots more. (I wish I could remember the title of that book.) I've been following the interviewees ever since, even after my occupational interest slightly diverged. Few things delight me as much as remarkable draftsmanship in rough animation drawings. I love what Andreas does with his blog and I can't wait to see his movie!
DeleteAbsolutely LOVE the minimalist style of this poster!
ReplyDeleteThe suspense is killing me! Can you give an idea of when you'll likely have Mushka ready to present to the world?
ReplyDeleteWe are shooting for spring 2018.
DeleteSo far away!

Man - I am looking forward to it. Hopefully, you'll be able to show some more clips leading up to it.
Very funny!
DeleteSuch an exciting poster! I love the color scheme, the simplicity, and the abstract shapes that I can see in the curling smoke. The image reminds me of some Soviet-era paintings of winter activities in Russia and Siberia that I recently studied at the Russian art museum in Minneapolis.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw what SPA Studios is doing to advance the medium of hand-drawn animation with their "Klaus" feature-in-production, I was electrified. I really like seeing environments in animated films that are highly stylized and yet believable (in terms of lighting and such), and I hope we see more of those in animated feature films in the future. It's great to see that 'Mushka' seems to exemplify that.
Hi Andreas, was I surprised to see my first poster idea on your blog.
ReplyDeletemaybe we have to do another image combining the 2 posters somehow?
