Ken Anderson in his own Words

More comments about Walt Disney, this time by layout artist, art director and character stylist Ken Anderson. I really enjoyed getting to now Ken during the 1980s. Even in retirement he was so enthusiastic about the art form of animation, its past as well as its future. And he loved talking to young people who were just entering the animation business.

  1. Kinda sad that his choices for "Dalmatians" caused a bit of a rift between him and Walt. I think it's still one of the best-looking films in terms of artistic direction.

  2. "...But he forgot me to pay. Three weeks went by and he didn't pay me. I was living off my paychecks and I didn't know what I was going to do. But luckily, he said,"Ken I didn't pay you last week." I answered, "No, you didn't pay me for the last three weeks." "I didn't", he laughed, and he paid me more than I could ever save in my life..."
I like to read that this story ended well! :)
Good luck to Alan Dean Foster and all authors!
