Prince & the Pauper

This is a cel from one of my scenes from Disney's 1990 featurette The Prince & the Pauper.
I remember working very hard to distinguish the TWO Mickeys. One is a prince, one is a pauper.
Same look, different personalities and behavior.
I tried to portray the Pauper with submissive acting, while the Prince is confident and in charge. He's the authority.
This turned out to be a fun assignment, even though the film's overall story is somewhat scattered.
Thinking back, I just remember how much I enjoyed animating Mickey Mouse.

    3. I did not like the live action Beauty and the Beast. It just felt like it was trying to out do the original instead of pay respect to it. And as a gay man I found the gay stereotypes offensive.

    4. People care about money money money money and we are tired of there stupidity remakes, imagine if thay do a remake of Harry Potter or The Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins with new actors in the future it will destroy Hollywood with money like pollution and politics.

    7. It's entertainment. And whether you and I enjoy a movie or not it doesn't matter. What matters is that the film did what it was suppose to do...entertain.

  2. I remember that I saw this short film "The Prince and the Pauper" in the cinema before "Bernhard and Bianca in Australia" began.(Or "Beauty and the Beast"?)

Sorry when I describe the wrong scene.... :-)

Pauper Mickey gets in with his cap in his hand. He goes slowly and looking shy to the left and than to the right. When he steps into the throne room and sees King Mickey, who sits elevated on his throne, Pauper M. lowers his head. King M. jumps from his seat and goes or more hop to Pauper M. (he sourrounded him?). Pauper M. is to shy and cowed to look realy up...

    Is this description correct? :-)

  8. I absolutely loved your blog post, Andreas! The way you've delved into the animation and storytelling techniques used in "The Prince and the Pauper" is both insightful and fascinating. It's clear that your expertise in animation brings a unique perspective to understanding these Disney classics.
Speaking of classics, sometimes life throws us unexpected curveballs where we might need a bit of financial assistance. Your post got me thinking about how even a small $200 loan can make a big difference in certain situations. It's like a "plot twist" in our own life story!
For anyone intrigued by both the art of animation and financial insights, I'd recommend checking out this article on https://paydaysay.com/200-dollar-loan/ about getting a loan. Just like the magic that happens in Disney's animations, it might just help you out when you least expect it.
Keep up the fantastic work on your blog, Andreas. Your passion for animation shines through in your writing, and it's always a pleasure to read your posts! 🎬📝
