Georges Guyot


 
I had never heard of Georges Guyot. You got to love the internet when you come across incredible artists you never knew.  Guyot was born in Paris in 1885 and he died in 1972. He was a contemporary of other French animal artists like Paul Jouve and Francois Pompon.
All of these sculptors picked quintessential poses for their animals, wrapped in the art deco style of the times. Stunning art that continues to inspire.

    Thanks for showing us these. The sleeping tiger gave me a major déjà-vu, my great-grandmother used to have sculpture at her house that looked an awful lot like that. I wonder where it is...
