Words of Wisdom

...from Don Graham, Disney's prime art teacher during the Golden Age of animation. All of the animators valued his classes enormously. This is a magazine article from December of 1940.

  2. Thank you for this. Wow. This article really fills in some missing gaps in other works of Don Graham seen more frequently. And here we get a glimpse at the 'principles' from a very interesting perspective. I can almost hear animators saying 'yeah, yeah... and... '. And the rest as they say, is history.

  3. Thank you for sharing this article with us! :-)
To know what technical options artist have in the past make me humble everytime I see the great results of their artworks!
To seeing their art in time leaves me astonished so that I love the old films much more than before! :-)

  4. Andreas, thanks for the Don Graham article, especially the great animation bits of Goofy from Clock Cleaners. As this magazine issue is unobtanium at present, a delightful find. Don Graham's book Composing Pictures is in reprint and since it is no longer unobtanium, a must in the library.
