Happy Birthday, Mary Costa!

Please,  join me in wishing legendary opera star and voice of Sleeping Beauty, Mary Costa a Happy Birthday. Feel free to leave any congratulatory comments here, and I will get them to Mary's attention. Here is an open letter from Mary:

After my recent post on Sleeping Beauty I received the loveliest personal note from Mary, which I will treasure. Here is that post from January:

  3. Sorry I'm late, but a very happy birthday to Ms Costa! Her voice in this letter is as lovely as it was in Sleeping Beauty, and I hope she has many years filled with loving friends still to come.

  4. Happy birthday Mary! Your voice enchanted me from childhood, so ethereal, the perfect voice for the perfect princess. I've been dazzled by your talent and grace for so many years, and I thank you for being one of the most lovely and under appreciated Disney Princesses, and for being part of the Disney family!

Thank you for bringing to life the best princess of all , your voice is for me the most elegant and graceful voice i've ever heard. I hope to hear your voice someday in another Disney classic, one of my dreams would be to direct a Disney animated movie and have your voice to narrate my tale.

  11. I fear I'm too late, but if I ever met Mary in person, I would thank her for not just having a part in one of my favorite movies of all time, nor for her long and gorgeous career in opera. But I would like to personally congratulate her for being of the very few reasons why my siblings and I worn out a VHS tape for a movie because of how often we watched Sleeping Beauty. Not everybody has that distinction in my family, and Mary's performance will always stand the test of time.

Happy belated birthday, Mary! You met my sister once, lucky her. Take it easy!
