As it turns out, it is a scene featured in the Ollie Johnston chapter of my Nine Old Men book.
Does anybody recognize the other two gentlemen?

Movie Life magazine published these scrapbook type pages in their issue from September, 1942.

DeleteOllie looks really young there!
ReplyDeleteThese guys were kids when they worked on the early classics.
Deletehow does it work? Ollie did the first rough drawing, and then himself did this clean version that shows Thumper and Bambi with these lines indicated by colored pencils?
ReplyDeleteNo, clean up drawings are done by clean up artists.
DeleteI wonder if that jointed model still exists anywhere
ReplyDeleteToday it is with the Disney Animation Research Library, the ARL.
